License & Data Use
Last updated: October 27, 2026. Effective on first use.
This License accompanies the Terms of Service. It describes what you may do with the maps and data you access through Palimap, a service of Go Be Strong LLC. By subscribing to a Palimap plan you agree to both this License and the Terms. Reading a published map requires no account and is covered by the Terms alone.
1. The license we grant you
Subject to these terms and your plan remaining in good standing, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use your subscribed maps and layers for the term of your subscription. A Public Maps (city) plan covers the subscribing municipality's official and public use, for its staff and residents. An Individual plan covers your own personal or professional use. This license is a right to use the Service — it is not a sale or transfer of the data, the software, or any intellectual property.
2. What you're free to do
Palimap's city maps are public to read — and that is the point. You may view, link to, screenshot, and reference the published map, and share those links and images in civic, educational, journalistic, and everyday use (a council packet, a public notice, a neighbor's question), with Palimap and its data sources credited as shown on the map. A Public Maps subscription places no cap on how many staff or residents look at the map.
3. What you may not do
You may not bulk-download, scrape, or systematically extract the compiled datasets or map tiles to redistribute them, to stand up a competing or substitute product, or to resell or sublicense the data as data. You may not remove or obscure source attribution, and you may not present a Palimap map as a survey, a legal boundary determination, a title search, a flood certification, or any other authoritative or certified record (see Section 6). These limits protect the sources' terms and the work of compiling the map; they are not meant to discourage ordinary civic sharing under Section 2.
4. Who owns what — and the data behind the maps
Go Be Strong LLC owns the Palimap platform and software, the compilation and presentation of the maps, and the layers we hand-trace for a city (notably zoning and wards). The underlying public data is assembled from many sources — census, FEMA, USGS, USDA, OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps, the Library of Congress, and state and county records, among others — and each source's own license continues to govern that data. Where a source requires attribution or share-alike terms (for example OpenStreetMap under the Open Database License), those obligations apply to that data and travel with it; we credit sources on every map. Public records (such as parcels or tax-forfeited lists) remain public; what Palimap adds is the assembly, the geometry, and the presentation.
5. Your own drawn content
You keep ownership of the Lenses, scenarios, and layers you create or import, as described in the Terms. You grant us the license we need to store, process, and display that content so the Service works — including showing a Lens you choose to share by its link. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.
6. Accuracy — this is an informational tool
Some layers — notably parcels and zoning — are reconstructed from the best available evidence and may be labeled as drafts. Palimap is an informational tool, not a survey, title search, legal boundary determination, flood certification, or engineering record. Do not rely on it as the authoritative source for property lines, regulatory decisions, emergency response, or any purpose requiring a certified record — verify with the official source before acting. Charted water depth is shown for reference only and is not for navigation: it is NOAA/USACE chart data in a form not certified for navigation, and must not be used to navigate a vessel.
7. Term, cancellation, and reinstatement
This license lasts for the subscription period you've paid for and renews with your plan. If you cancel or a subscription lapses for non-payment, the license ends: the city map is removed from public access and listing. We retain the build, so access can be restored if you resubscribe. Billing, renewal, and cancellation mechanics are governed by the Terms of Service.
8. Changes & contact
We may update this License; material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continued use means you accept them. Questions: support@palimap.com.
